Differential equations, neural networks, epidemiological modeling, and fractional dynamical systems

Dr. Swati Tyagi is an accomplished Indian applied mathematician with a strong profile in differential equations, neural networks, epidemiological modeling, and fractional dynamical systems. She is currently an Assistant Professor in the Department of Mathematics at Amity University Punjab, where she has also served as Head/In-charge of the department. Her earlier appointments include positions at Chandigarh University and Punjab Engineering College.

She earned her PhD from IIT Mandi in 2016 with the thesis titled “Analysis of Neural Network Models of Integer and Non-Integer Order.” She subsequently received the prestigious SERB National Postdoctoral Fellowship and conducted postdoctoral research at IIT Ropar. This strong academic trajectory reflects sustained excellence and national-level recognition.

Dr. Tyagi’s core research areas include mathematical modeling, epidemiology, delay differential equations, fractional differential equations, stability theory, bifurcation analysis, and approximation methods for neural network systems. She has developed a particularly strong reputation in the analysis of delayed and fractional-order neural networks, synchronization problems, Mittag-Leffler stability, Hopf bifurcation, and epidemic dynamics.

Her publication record is highly impressive, with papers in internationally respected journals such as Fuzzy Sets and Systems, Chaos, Solitons & Fractals, Neurocomputing, Mathematical Methods in the Applied Sciences, Neural Computing and Applications, and Results in Physics. Her works span neural systems, HIV and infectious disease models, predator-prey dynamics, and fractional control systems, indicating both theoretical depth and interdisciplinary reach.

She has also earned notable academic distinctions, including financial support to attend Foundations of Computational Mathematics 2023 and ICIAM 2023, a Top Cited Article recognition from Wiley, and a strong GATE rank. She actively serves the profession as a reviewer for leading journals, including IEEE and Elsevier outlets, and has been invited as a guest editor for Frontiers in Physics.

As an educator, she has taught a broad range of undergraduate and postgraduate mathematics courses, including ordinary differential equations, probability and statistics, fluid dynamics, numerical methods, vector calculus, and linear algebra. Her experience across IITs and universities highlights both her teaching versatility and her potential as a research mentor.

Overall, Dr. Swati Tyagi is a highly capable and research-active mathematician whose work successfully bridges rigorous theory with real-world applications. Her consistent publication quality, competitive fellowships, international visibility, and strong expertise in fractional and neural network systems make her a valuable contributor to contemporary applied mathematics.
